SSP is no longer accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.
Please familiarize yourself with the process and requirements outlined below before completing the application.
Who qualifies for SSP?
- Students currently enrolled in eighth grade
- Students who come from low-income families; paying tuition must be financially impossible without assistance.
- Students of all backgrounds; SSP does not discriminate on the basis of religion, race, or national origin.
- Students who, along with their families, are willing to contribute a portion of the tuition costs, usually around $900.
- Most of the students who are accepted have attended public middle schools.
- Proof of family income must be provided in the application, and may be reviewed on a yearly basis.
- SSP students and their families are expected to pay $900 towards school tuition each year. Please note that schools may have additional fees (transportation, books, uniforms, activities, etc.) for which students and their families are also responsible.
- Students who apply to SSP are not required to take the TACHS test. If you are accepted to a school through the TACHS, you are not guaranteed an SSP scholarship.
- Students of all faiths are accepted. SSP is a nondenominational program.
- Candidates are encouraged to return their completed application as quickly as possible. Please make sure all portions of the application are complete before submitting.
- SSP admits a limited number of students each year. Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
- SSP is accepting applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. Interviews will begin in November, so please complete and submit your application as soon as possible for consideration. There is a $35 fee to apply. SSP is no longer accepting applications for the 2010-2011 school year.
